R-781reportedly studied bats as carriers of viral pathogens, including
plague, leptospirosis, brucellosis, coronaviruses, and filoviruses that can be transmitted to humans, thus making them "potential biological weapons agents",
according to the MoD. Among the goals pursued in the Ukrainian biolabs
was the creation of bioagents that would be capable of targeting certain
