What Is the New Symbol Appearing on Russian Military Equipment?

"OSINT Defender reports that the new symbol could be related to Russia's renewed border
offensive in northeast
Ukraine. Russian armored assault groups are attempting to breach Ukrainian defenses, particularly around Vovchansk, where Russian forces have been spotted entering the border town.
In conflict zones, symbols like these primarily serve as identification friend or foe (IFF) measures, a way to prevent friendly fire. The most prominent marking has been the 'Z' that appeared on many Russian armored vehicles early after the invasion in 2022 and went on to become something of a symbol for Russians to show support for the war effort. According to Ukrainian officials, Moscow has made "tactically significant gains" in areas of the northeast region, where Kyiv has fewer defenses." MS

Putin Plotting 'Physical Attacks' On West, UK Intelligence Warns, Amid Spate Of Mystery Arsons

"A top British intelligence official has issued a new alarmist warning concerning the 'Russian threat' to the West. Anne Keast-Butler, who for the last year has headed up the UK's GCHQ, or signals intelligence operations (which is the equivalent of America's NSA), has warned in her first major speech that President Putin is plotting "physical attacks" against Western targets.
Addressing cyber security experts in Birmingham, the GCHQ director claimed that Moscow is busy "nurturing and inspiring" groups of cyber attackers, and is even "in some cases seemingly coordinating physical attacks against the West."
She said that alongside Russia, China poses an "epoch-defining" risk to long-term UK national security as well. She admitted that currently China is taking up "more resource… than any other single mission" at GCHQ.
But ultimately she focused the speech on British intelligence being "increasingly concerned about growing links between the Russian intelligence services and proxy groups to conduct cyber-attacks – as well as suspected physical surveillance and sabotage operations." ZH

Ukraine's Military Leadership Already Pointing Fingers Over Kharkov

"With major Russian advances in the Kharkov region over the weekend and continuing on Monday, Kiev’s military leadership is already assigning blame for Ukraine’s defensive failures in the region.
Over the weekend,
Russia made significant gains in the Kharkov region, particularly on two fronts: To the south of Belgorod (north of Kharkov) towards Liptsy and to the southeast, towards the city of Volchansk where Russian forces have already entered the outskirts of the city.
The Liptsy area of the front is largely under the protection of normal
Ukrainian forces and is under the control of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky. Meanwhile, the Volchansk region’s defense has been largely left to Ukraine’s special forces, made up of the neo-Nazi brigades like the so-called Russia Volunteer Corps and the Banderite “special forces” group Kraken.
Those groups are under the command of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GRU) head Kyrylo Budanov and are outside the normal military hierarchy.
As the situation began to deteriorate for
Ukraine’s defenses in the region, Budanov immediately began to place the blame on Syrsky’s troops in the region, according to some reports. There have been several reports of Budanov blaming Syrsky in Telegram channels but that could not be independently confirmed by Sputnik. There has been plenty of other blame to go around in Ukraine. On Monday, Kiev announced that it was sacking the commander in charge of the Volchansk region." Sputnik
