Trump lays blame for stock market crash

"As stock markets in the US and worldwide are taking a tumble, former President Donald
Trump
has directed blame at the Democratic administration in Washington.
US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris – the latter of whom is running for the White House against Trump – are responsible for the financial storm, according to the Republican nominee.

Global stock sell-off intensifies amid fears of U.S. recession

"Asia-Pacific markets continued the sell-off from last week, while investors awaited key trade data from China and Taiwan this week, as well as central bank decisions from Australia and
India.
Japan’s markets led losses in the region as the Nikkei 225 and Topix dropped as much as 7% in volatile trading. Heavyweight trading houses such as Mitsubishi, Mitsui and Co, Sumitomo and Marubeni all plunged around 10%. Taiwan’s benchmark index, Taiex, was down almost 8%, while Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 fell 2.84%. South Korea’s Kospi was down 4.38%, while the Kosdaq fell 4.63%.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index saw the smallest loss in Asia, inching down 0.22%, while mainland China’s CSI 300 was marginally up, the only major index in positive territory.

Bangladesh prime minister flees as army chief declares interim government

"Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina fled her palace on Monday, a source told the AFP news agency, as masses of protesters roamed the streets of Dhaka. In an address to the nation, Bangladesh's army chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman said Hasina had resigned and that he was forming an interim government. Jubilant looking crowds waved flags, celebrating peacefully. Some danced on top of tanks.
Hasina's son urged the country's security forces to block any takeover from her rule, while a senior advisor told AFP her resignation was a "possibility" after being questioned as to whether she would quit." CBS

Russian forces deploy Egyptian mercenaries in Vovchansk

France warns citizens to leave Iran

Several cities in the UK, including Liverpool, Nottingham, Leeds, Belfast, Stoke-on-Trent, Blackpool, and Hull, were plunged into chaos after a knife attack in Southport, England left three children dead and several others injured. The attack was carried out by Axel Rudakubana, a 17-year-old born in Britain to Rwandan parents. Meanwhile, there are rumors circulating online that the culprit was a Syrian migrant who went to Britain by boat.
The tragedy has sparked numerous protests, with videos showing demonstrators chanting anti-immigrant and anti-Islam slogans, setting fires, and setting off fireworks as cars were burned and buildings damaged, though the protests have not all been violent. 124 combat clashes at front in past day, enemy attacked Pokrovsk sector 30 times

"In the past 24 hours, 124 combat engagements have been recorded on the front lines in Ukraine. The aggressor carried out air strikes, in particular, on the areas of Kruhliakivka and Lozova in the Kharkiv region; Hryhorivka, Kurdiumivka, Toretsk, Chasiv Yar, Trudove, Oleksandropil, Vozdvyzhenka, Novohrodivka, Hrodivka, Katerynivka, Bohoyavlenka, Vremivka in the Donetsk region; and Lobkove and Novodanylivka in the Zaporizhzhia.
In the Kharkiv sector, the enemy continued assault operations. There were 11 combat engagements in the vicinity of Hlyboke, Lyptsi, Tykhove and Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk sector, the number of combat engagements increased to six over the day. The
Ukrainian forces repelled enemy assaults near five different localities. The enemy concentrated its efforts in the direction of Petropavlivka, launching two attacks.
In the Lyman sector,
Ukrainian troops repelled eight enemy attacks in the vicinity of Makiivka, Terny and Nevske.
In the Siversk sector, the Defense Forces repelled eight attacks near Spirne, Verkhniokamianske, Pereizne and Vyimka. The enemy conducted five of the above attacks near the latter.
In the Kramatorsk sector,
Ukrainian troops thwarted 15 enemy attempts to break through defensive lines in the areas of Chasiv Yar, where more than half of all the fighting took place, as well as Ivanivske, Stupochky, Bila Hora, Klishchiivka and Andriivka.
In the Toretsk sector, the enemy conducted 18 attacks. The Russian army concentrated its efforts in the vicinity of the settlements of New York and Toretsk, engaging in almost 80% of all combat operations in that area. Furthermore, they conducted an assault near Zalizne and Pivnichne. The town of Toretsk and its surrounding area were subjected to 14 aerial bombardments.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 30 attacks. The enemy concentrated its main efforts in the areas of Zhelanne and Novooleksandrivka, where almost half of the total number of engagements took place."
