Black death plague shuts down five hospitals as Covid-era mask mandate returns
"Multiple hospitals have been shut down and placed under quarantine as concerns grow over a potential plague outbreak spreading through Europe. A total of five medical facilities in Siberia have been closed for quarantine following a suspected plague case.
The healthcare centers have reportedly been locked down for a minimum three-week quarantine period after a laboratory worker succumbed to an "unspecified form of plague" in Russia.
The incident occurred at the Irkutsk Anti-Plague Institute on September 25th while she was working with samples, and the situation appears to be escalating as the number of affected hospitals has grown from one to five.
A mask mandate - reminiscent of measures implemented during the Covid pandemic - has been put in place at the major aluminum plant in Irkutsk.
Several U.S. politicians are now advocating for a suspension of commercial air travel to and from Russia until the situation becomes clearer.
