Knife-wielding attacker kills one, injures five officers in France

"The attacker, an Algerian male, was on a terror prevention watchlist and under judicial

supervision, according to the anti-terrorism prosecution office... The attack occurred in the city of Mulhouse in eastern France near the German border and left two of the officers seriously wounded.
A 69-year-old man who intervened to help the officers died from stab wounds, authorities said. The attacker shouted “Allahu Akbar.”.....he was a 69-year-old Portuguese national.
Macron said the knife attack was “without any doubt an act of Islamist terrorism.”

Wagner fighter makes last stand against the Tuareg

"A member of the Russian private military company (PMC) Wagner Group has chosen death over capture, attacking Tuareg militants with a stone, a highly disturbing video circulating online shows.

A military convoy carrying contractors of the PMC and Malian soldiers was reportedly ambushed last week in the vicinity of the village of Tinzawaten, close to the country’s border with Algeria. The Tuareg insurgents killed dozens of PMC contractors, taking a handful hostage, unconfirmed media reports and unverified videos circulating online suggest.
One of the fighters, presumed to be a member of the Wagner Group, given his ethnicity and an old-fashioned Soviet-style camouflage choice, made a bold last stand against the militants, a highly disturbing video shows.
The fighter played dead while insurgents were kicking him, before abruptly getting up and charging the militants with a stone. While some of the Tuareg began fleeing the fighter, one of them militants gunned him down at point blank range." RT

A 29-year-old Algerian migrant carrying a 10″ knife was shot dead early this morning by police. The man had allegedly climbed onto the roof of a synagogue in the city of Rouen in northern France, smashed a window, and thrown in an incendiary device.....police responded to a public report of smoke rising from the building, and when they arrived they called for a man carrying a knife and a chisel on top of a wall at the building to come down. Instead, the man insulted the officers and threw a chisel at them. During the confrontation officers were forced to fall back and, feeling threatened, one of the police fired five shots, four of which struck the Algerian.
