"President Donald Trump has confirmed that a major terrorist attack was thwarted in England. And it appears that the usual suspects are at it again. The terrorist threat took place near a key air base used by U.S. forces. Trump said the suspects were looking to do "big damage."
Trump said American and British authorities had been watching the suspects before the arrests. "The arrest in the UK was fantastic,"Trump told reporters, according to Reuters. "We had them under investigation. They were looking to do big damage to our port and working with the British worked out great." "We had them under view for a long time, and we got them," Trump added. Arama noted that the base has served as an important hub for American air operations and hosts the U.S. Air Force's 501st Combat Support Wing. Police established a 400-meter cordon around the vehicles while an Army explosive ordnance disposal team examined them. Around 85 households were told to evacuate as a precaution. Reuters reported, citing a source familiar with the investigation, that investigators consider an Iranian-linked motive the most likely possibility, while also examining whether the incident could have involved a Russian sabotage operation or an Islamist plot." "An accused ISIS member has been arrested by counter-terrorism agents over allegations he instructed people how to plan and conduct mass-casualty attacks from his base in Australia. The Melbourne man, who the Australian Federal Police alleges was a propagandist for the Islamic extremist group, is accused of sending about 10,000 documents, messages, images, videos and audio files relating to executions and torture.
The 65-year-old retiree allegedly pledged allegiance to ISIS. The man, a Somali-born Australian citizen, is alleged to have acted on the behalf of the terrorist group without traveling to the territory it controlled during conflict in the Middle East. His role was significant, police said. The scale of extremist material the man was accused of spreading put him among the top propagandists on the encrypted messaging platform he used, AFP acting Assistant Commissioner Paula Hudson said. "The material allegedly shared by this man glorified acts of extreme violence and promoted a terrorist organization, spreading a hateful ideology that's designed to radicalize others," Hudson said." "Aaron F. Farinacci faces charges of 1st Degree Arson for allegedly starting the Old Trails Fire, according to Spokane County officials, with a $1 million bond. Officials at the press conference say the investigation into Farinacci's arrest began on Aug. 1, near the intersection of N. Old Trails Road and W. Euclid Road, just north of the City of Airway Heights, after
concerned citizens notified authorities that they noticed a man who was bending down in the grass in the area around 12 p.m. Witnesses told officials that Farinacci looked nervous, and later on saw smoke coming from the area where he was standing. Officials say the witness gave Airway Heights police a description of what Farinacci looked like. Officials say that during evacuations, police were trying to find Farinacci and located him four miles from where the fire started. Police say they let Farinacci go due to a lack of evidence. During the press conference, officials say that DNR, Crime Check and detectives developed probable cause to arrest him for arson. Officials say they found Farinacci in possession of waterproof matches and a butane lighter. He was arrested at his residence in the 2800 block of W. Elliot Drive without incident. Fire officials say the Old Trails Fire was started by a set of matches or a lighter. Prior court records show that Farinacci is a convicted felon in Arizona for manslaughter and premeditated murder. He has no previous history of arson. Farinacci was also a resident in Spokane." KREM2
"At least 11 people were injured Saturday when a truck packed with explosives detonated next to a Colombian police station near the border with Venezuela, six days before President-elect Abelardo de la Espriella's inauguration.
AFP reporters saw the vehicle in flames, damaged building facades and police, and soldiers and residents gathering around the scene of the attack in the northern city of Cucuta. After the blast, local security officials confirmed the number of injured. "At this time, we have eight police officers and three civilians who have been injured," George Quintero, security secretary for the department of Norte de Santander where the attack occurred, told reporters. "This was an atrocious, violent act ... and what happened is regrettable." De la Espriella condemned the bombing "in the strongest terms," adding "terrorism will not intimidate Colombia." The right-wing de la Espriella will take office on Aug. 7 in the city of Cali, succeeding Gustavo Petro, the first leftist president in the country's history. "Oil prices fell Thursday after Saudi Arabia proposed a naval coalition to protect key trade

The Saudi Defense Ministry said more than 40 countries attended a meeting to discuss "strengthening maritime defense cooperation and unifying efforts to protect the security of maritime passages." The effort to forge a naval alliance comes as Iran's Houthi allies in Yemen declared a maritime embargo of Saudi Arabia last week. Iran has repeatedly attacked ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz. "Three people, reportedly including a pregnant woman, were injured on Monday morning in
Paris after a man went on a stabbing spree in the French capital. Despite the attacker reportedly claiming that he was motivated by “Allah”, the case is not currently being treated as a terror incident. A source close to the investigation told Le Parisien: “The guy said Allah sent me to kill women.” A separate report from Le Figaro stated that two of the victims are currently in critical condition, while the third is in serious condition. The paper cited footage circulating on social media, which appeared to show the suspected knifeman being held down by multiple people. "The death of 78-year-old Ann Widdecombe should cause both ends of the political spectrum to recoil in horror and sadness. Instead, leftists are taking the alleged killer's means of committing the act as a page to add to their playbook.
Widdecombe was discovered in her home in Devon, England, on July 9 by a gardener after an assistant became concerned when she did not make a media appearance. The alleged killer's method was beating Widdecombe 21 times with a hammer. According to the U.K.'s Daily Mail, investigators found communist literature in Kerry's home along with newspaper clippings about Reform U.K.'s leader Nigel Farage. This was the party Widdecombe had been serving as an immigration spokeswoman. When noting that Widdecombe was an outspoken defender of conservatism -- denouncing abortion and LGBT propaganda -- the picture becomes clear as to the motivations behind the attack. The Post Millennial's Andy Ngo found a flyer from Palestine Action that he posted to social media platform X after the killing, in which the group was seemingly encouraging the use of hammers to harm conservatives." msn

Jihad al-Shamie, 35, held discussions in a mosque with Mohammed Bashir, 31, which were recorded on CCTV, Manchester Crown Court was told. Bashir is facing jail for driving the terrorist on a reconnaissance mission to the UK Defense Academy in Oxfordshire, two months before al-Shamie attacked worshippers at Heaton Park synagogue last October. The pair had also discussed getting “war ready” and how al-Shamie had “had enough of this world” in messages on phones held by the police but only examined after the attack.
