Ukrainian Adventist Conscientious Objector Serving Three-Year Jail Sentence

refusing to take up arms in Ukraine's fight against Russia. “The Recruitment Office rejected Zelinsky's written request to be exempted from mobilization on grounds of conscience or to be assigned to alternative civilian service 'due to the fact that such replacement is not provided for by the current legislation,' according to the subsequent court decision,”...An official of Kremenets District Recruitment Office – who did not give his name – refused to explain why it refused Zelinsky's application for alternative civilian service. Zelinsky is preparing a Supreme Court appeal. Courts have handed conscientious objectors three prison sentences (two of them later overturned), nine suspended prison terms, and two acquittals (which prosecutors are challenging). Ukraine reports 103 combat clashes in past day

"Over the past 24 hours, 103 combat clashes took place. The enemy launched a missile attack and 23 airstrikes, as well as 59 attacks involving multiple rocket launchers, on the positions of Ukrainian troops and at populated areas. Unfortunately, as a result of Russian terrorist

attacks, there are casualties among the civilian population. Residential buildings and other civil infrastructure sustained damage and destruction.
Russian invaders launched another strike, employing seven Shahed-136/131-type one-way attack UAVs. Four drones were intercepted Avdiivka, Orlivka, and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region were targeted in Russia’s airstrikes.
More than 110 settlements across Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions came under enemy artillery fire.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the situation saw no significant changes.
In the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna directions, the Russians maintain their military presence near the border, engaging in subversive activities in order to prevent the Ukrainian military command from maneuvering their forces.

Ballistic Missiles May Have Been Used In Huge Strike On US Base In Iraq

"A missile barrage has reportedly struck the Al-Asad Airbase ..... have continued trickling out and are scant, but by all accounts the attack on Al-Asad airbase in Western Iraq, which houses US forces, was a big one. Reuters cites an official who said "the base was hit by ballistic missiles but he left open the possibility it was struck by rockets." This has led to some speculation that ballistic missiles could have been fired on the US outpost from Iranian territory. But Reuters also notes, "Two security sources in Iraq and one government source said the base was hit by multiple rockets fired from inside Iraq." ZH
