Russians snub Olympics closing ceremony

"Russian athletes will not be taking part in the Paris Olympics closing ceremony. The last
Russian athlete to take part in the Olympics was rower Zakhar Petrov, who took fourth place in the canoe single 1,000-meter final on August 9. Canoeists Olesya Romasenko and Aleksey Korovashkov finished up earlier this week and already arrived back home.
None of the Russian canoeists will go to the closing ceremony,” the pan-Russian Canoe and Kayaking Federation told TASS. Vyacheslav Ekimov, the president of the Russian Cycling Federation, also stated that the cyclists taking part in the Games have already left Paris.
Our cyclists are all home. They are preparing for the next starts,” he said." RT
