Tsunami hits coast after 7.1-magnitude earthquake strikes off Japan

"A violent quake was initially detected off the southeast of
Japan, registering at 7.1 magnitude and causing authorities to halt trains and urge people to seek higher ground.
Minutes later, another 7.1 magnitude tremor struck the island again and buffeted the nearby island of Shikoku, according to the United States Geological Survey.
Tsunami advisories were sent out over several regions in the southwestern islands of Kyushu and Shikoku, as Japan prepared its rapid response forces." MS
