"A powerful 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck near the heavily populated region of Oromiya in Ethiopia with over 250,000 people feeling the earth shake strongly.
The quake, which struck at approximately 11:28 p.m. local time on Friday night, was recorded by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) as having a shallow depth of 6.2 miles with the epicenter approximately 3.7 miles NNE of Metahāra, Ethiopia, which places it near Fentale volcano." MS
