Russian court fines Google $20,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

"A Russian court has ruled that Google owes Russian media stations around $20 decillion in fines for blocking their content, and the fines could get bigger.…
To put that into perspective, the World Bank estimates global GDP as around $100 trillion, which is peanuts compared to the prospective fine. Google would therefore have to find more money than exists on Earth to pay Moscow - but on Tuesday fell a little short of that mark when it posted $88 billion quarterly revenue.
"
Google was called by a Russian court to administrative liability under Art. 13.41 of the Administrative Offenses Code for removing channels on the YouTube platform. The court ordered the company to restore these channels," lawyer Ivan Morozov told state media." MS

CNN reporter, crew held captive as ‘spies’ by militia in Darfur

"CNN correspondent Clarissa Ward revealed that she and her team were held captive by a militia for two days while reporting in Darfur earlier this month.
The 44-year-old veteran war correspondent traveled to Sudan to report on the civil war, which has ignited a humanitarian crisis with more than 26 million people facing famine.
In an essay she penned for CNN, Ward said she and her team were detained by a militia led by a man who went by the moniker “the general,” just hours after arriving in North Darfur.
Ward, cameraman Scott McWhinne and producer Brent Swails were inside a vehicle when they were surrounded by armed fighters who angrily told them not to film on the scene.
Ward’s producer tried to defuse the situation but the general grabbed a rifle and fired off a round– apparently targeting a bird..... they were met by a rival militia and two trucks carrying rocket propelled grenades and machine guns.
The team’s driver was hauled off in chains to the town jail and the crew was interrogated individually for three hours in a “small, windowless room.”
After the questioning, Ward and her team were put in their vehicle and ordered to follow a convoy that was headed deeper into Darfur. The crew was then held for two days under the watch of armed men, some as young as 14, Ward wrote. After 48 hours, the general informed the CNN team that they would be let go, with the general saying, “We thought you were spies but now you can go home.NYP

What It Will Take To End The War In Ukraine -- The end of this war awaits the U.S. election

"The apparent reason is that the Ukrainians
still expect to expel the
Russians from Ukraine, including the Crimea, and Russia still purports to aspire to the complete absorption of Ukraine back into Russia, where it was for 300 years.
Following the shambles of the
American and allied efforts in Afghanistan, and the general air of enfeeblement of the United States, President Putin executed his grand step to take his historic place with Peter the Great, Catherine the Great, and Stalin who expanded the Russian state and the influence of Russia in Europe.
The reason we have not got to this conclusion yet is that the United States hasn’t been pushing for it. The Ukrainian government is prepared to go on with the casualties, so America will fight on with it to the last Ukrainian.
Former President Trump has recognized that in addition to preserving Ukraine and its independence, the goal is to create conditions where a post-war Russia can be gradually enticed out of the arms of China.
A durable intimate alliance of those two countries could be strategically dangerous, as well as the practical end of Russia’s independence. For a year after the peace, Ukrainians could move to Russia or the revised borders of Ukraine, and a non-aggression agreement could be made between Russia and NATO.
The end of this war awaits the U.S. election,
which will effectively determine the terms.
