Russia attacks Ukraine with 178 drones, 154 downed

"Russian forces have attacked Ukraine with 178 Shahed, Gerbera and Italmas attack UAVs

and other types of drones since the evening. Ukrainian air defenses have downed 154 UAVs, but hits have been recorded at 12 locations. The attack is ongoing.
The drones were launched from the Russian cities of Bryansk, Oryol, Kursk, Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk as well as from Hvardiiske and Cape Chauda in temporarily occupied Crimea.
About 110 of the UAVs were Shahed loitering munitions.
Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defense forces have been involved in repelling the attack." msn

Ukraine strikes Russian-occupied Melitopol, setting off explosions, fires

"Ukraine struck the Russian-occupied city of Melitopol overnight sparking explosions and fires, Telegram news channel Exilenova Plus reported, citing local residents.

Russian air defense systems were destroyed in the attack on the southern Ukrainian city, the outlet later reported.
Ukraine regularly strikes military infrastructure deep within Russia and occupied territories in an effort to diminish Moscow's fighting power as the Kremlin wages its war.
Ukraine's Special Operations Forces (SSO) released video footage showing strikes on military facilities in Russian-occupied Donetsk oblast.

"A strong magnitude 5.8 earthquake occurred in the Caribbean Sea near the coast of Cuba in

the early morning at 12.28 am local time (GMT -4). The quake had a very shallow depth of 11.6 km (7 mi) and was felt widely in the area. The shallow depth of the quake caused it to be felt more strongly near the epicenter than a deeper quake of similar magnitude would." VD

171 clashes over past day

"Ukrainian forces and Russian troops engaged in 171 combat clashes.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, the enemy conducted 87 attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements, including four using multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS). Five airstrikes were carried out using 15 guided aerial bombs. Four combat clashes were recorded along this direction.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the enemy made three attempts to break through Ukrainian defensive lines toward Vovchansk and Starytsia.

In the Kupiansk sector, nine attacks were carried out toward Petropavlivka, Kurylivka, Hlushkivka, Novoosynove, Kupiansk, and Novoplatonivka.
In the Lyman sector, nine attacks were carried out, with Russian forces attempting to penetrate Ukrainian defenses toward Drobysheve, Lyman, Stavky, Dibrova, and Borova.
In the Sloviansk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled ten attempts by the enemy to advance toward Yampil, Platonivka, Riznykivka, Ozerne, and Rai-Oleksandrivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian forces attempted to improve their positions by assaulting toward Minkivka.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, the enemy carried out 30 attacks toward Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Stepanivka, Rusyn Yar, Sofiivka, and Novopavlivka.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian forces stopped 31 enemy offensive actions toward Bilytske, Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Myrnohrad, Shevchenko, Hryshyne, Udachne, Kotlyne, Filiia, Novomykolaivka, and Novopidhorodnie.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, five attacks were carried out toward Danylivka and Zlahoda.
