U.S. Military Kills Senior ISIS Leader, Two Sons, in Early-Morning Raid in Syria

"America’s hunt for leaders who hope to revive the Islamic State led to the deaths of three people in Syria on Friday.
Early this morning in al Bab, Aleppo Governate, Syria, CENTCOM Forces conducted a raid resulting in the death of senior ISIS Leader, Dhiya’ Zawba Muslih al-Hardani, and his two adult ISIS-affiliated sons, Abdallah Dhiya al-Hardani and Abd al-Rahman Dhiya Zawba al-Hardani,” U.S. Central Command posted on social media platform X.
Colin P. Clarke, a counterterrorism analyst at the Soufan Group, said highlighting the raid “makes sense, as the U.S. may be eager to highlight the anti-ISIS fight, in partnership with Turkey and Syria, particularly the latter, in an effort to show the lengths Damascus is going to in order to make tangible changes and accede to U.S. demands.”

Tropical downpours flood Moscow for 3 days in a row

"Residents of the Russian capital have faced an unprecedented hydrological anomaly. Heavy rains have hit Moscow and the region, turning the city's key transport arteries into real rivers.
A series of tropical downpours has been hitting the
Russian capital Moscow for 3 days in a row. On the afternoon of July 24, Moscow and the Moscow region were again hit by a heavy downpour with gusty winds and hail in some places. The rain flooded the streets, and cars literally floated along the highways, racing with river trams. Underground crossings, parking lots and shopping centers were flooded.
The heavy rains that hit Moscow and broke multi-year records in a number of areas were caused by a powerful Atlantic cyclone and a frontal system associated with it. The cyclone was moving from the Atlantic towards Europe, strengthening the moist westerly wind, which brought heavy precipitation." DW
