Trump announces Greenland deal

"The U.S. will effectively control Greenland’s security under an agreement reached with Denmark and the self-governing Arctic territory, President Donald Trump has announced.
Trump said the agreement “gives the United States
permanent control over security, and all other needs, in Greenland, completely addressing ALL of our many
U.S. concerns
.”
At my direction, we worked with representatives of Denmark and Greenland to guarantee that the United States will FOREVER have the complete ability to do what is necessary in Greenland in order to secure and defend the security of Greenland, and the United States of America,” he added.
Additionally, from now on, no U.S. adversary can EVER have a base in Greenland, have a military presence in Greenland, or make sensitive investments in Greenland, without our express written approval.”
Trump promised that the U.S. will be “very protective” of Greenland, describing the deal as “a dream come true for the United States of America.”
Trump’s announcement coincided with a meeting of NATO’s top military officials in Copenhagen, where the bloc’s 32 defense chiefs gathered to discuss strengthening collective deterrence and defense.
The president has long argued that the U.S. should acquire Greenland from Denmark because of the island’s strategic position and the need to counter Russian and Chinese influence in the Arctic. His demands sparked outrage in Copenhagen and further strained relations with America’s NATO allies in Europe." RT

Trump signs 'Graham sanctioning Russia act'

The legislation gives the U.S. president the authority to impose tariffs of up to 100% on goods from countries that are among the largest buyers of Russian oil or gas. These primarily include China and India.
The law provides for new sanctions against Russian officials and oligarchs, banks, energy and defense companies, as well as "shadow fleet" vessels used to circumvent restrictions.

U.S. acknowledges for the first time that it has deployed weapons in space

"The United States has confirmed for the first time that it has deployed weapons in space.
Air Force Secretary Troy Meink told the Air and Space Cyber Conference in Maryland on Monday that the U.S. has fielded “on-orbit space control weapons capable of defending the Joint Force against hostile adversary action.”
Meink did not detail what the weapons were or how they work. In 2024 the U.S. said Russia was developing a new anti-satellite weapon that could be launched from space. At the time the White House said the danger wasn’t imminent.
But reports of the anti-satellite weapon reflected longstanding worries about space threats from Russia and China, given that much U.S. infrastructure is dependent on satellite communications.
In his remarks, Meink also said the Air Force was adding more autonomous systems to its capabilities and predicted the service would look “radically different” by 2032. For example, he foresaw one-way attack drones replacing artillery as the “primary killer.”" Breitbart

Two pro-Russian 'media figures' from Mariupol charged with collaboration

"In the Donetsk region, two pro-Russian "media figures" from Mariupol have been charged in absentia with collaboration.
"Under the procedural supervision of prosecutors from the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, two residents of Mariupol and the Kalmiuske district were charged in absentia. They are accused of collaboration activities (Part 6 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), while one of them is additionally charged with justifying and denying Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine (Part 1 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the statement said.
In May 2022, a 30-year-old Mariupol resident, while in occupied Donetsk, met with representatives of a local "online publication." During the interview, he publicly accused Ukrainian defenders of shelling Mariupol. In particular, he voiced false Kremlin propaganda narratives alleging that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had deliberately targeted civilians at the beginning of Russia's invasion. According to the prosecutors, his account of the so-called liberators, accompanied by words of personal gratitude to the president of the aggressor state, was published on a pro-Russian social network.
According to the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, in November 2023, the man became a correspondent for Komsomolskaya Pravda and RIA Novosti and continues to promote a negative attitude toward Ukraine among his audience.
The other suspect is a 42-year-old TV presenter for a "republican media holding," law enforcement officials said. In 2024, she hosted a program about a deceased participant in the so-called "special military operation." During a discussion with his relatives and other representatives of the Russian Armed Forces, the TV presenter deliberately manipulated public opinion, portraying the occupiers as "heroes." In 2026, during an interview with a "military cameraman" and a member of the "people's council" of the quasi-republic, she also approved of the actions of Russian forces on the front line and spoke positively about the activities of the occupation authorities."
