Tsunami advisory canceled after 7.3 magnitude earthquake off Alaska
"A tsunami advisory for Alaska's southern peninsula has been canceled, after a major earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.3 initially prompted a tsunami warning earlier Wednesday.
Videos posted to social media showed people in the town of Seward evacuating to higher ground after receiving a tsunami warning in the afternoon. The alert followed the earthquake that struck about 50 miles south of Sand Point, Alaska, at around 12:38 p.m. local time, according to the National Weather Service.

Ukrainian forces engage in 160 clashes with Russian invaders over past day
"Ukrainian Defense Forces recorded 160 combat engagements with Russian occupying forces along the frontline.
Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces launched one missile strike and 78 airstrikes at Ukrainian territory, using two missiles and dropping 125 guided aerial bombs. Additionally, the enemy deployed 4,150 kamikaze drones and carried out 5,662 shelling attacks on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas, including 102 strikes from multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).Russian airstrikes targeted the settlements of Obody in Sumy region, Dobropillia in Donetsk region, Bilohiria, Uspenivka, Novoandriivka, Plavni in Zaporizhzhia region, and Kozatske in Kherson region.
In response, Ukraine’s Air Force, missile forces, and artillery units struck 12 clusters of Russian personnel, weapons, and military equipment.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Ukrainian troops repelled 21 Russian assaults. Russia also launched 13 airstrikes, dropping 33 guided bombs, and conducted 340 shelling attacks, including seven MLRS strikes.
In the Southern-Slobozhanshchyna sector, Russian forces launched 13 assaults at Ukrainian positions near Vovchansk, Zelene, Stroivka, and toward Kudiivka.
In the Kupiansk sector, Ukrainian forces repelled three enemy attacks near Kindrashivka, Synkivka, and Zahryzove.
In the Lyman sector, Russian forces attacked 22 times, trying to advance near Novoiehorivka, Novyi Myr, Nadiia, Karpivka, Kolodiazi, Yampolivka, Zelena Dolyna, Torske, and toward Serebrianka.
In the Siversk sector, the Ukrainian positions were attacked four times near Hryhorivka and toward Vyimka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, seven clashes were reported near Orikhovo-Vasylivka, and toward Bila Hora and Predtechyne.
In the Toretsk sector, the Russians launched nine assaults near Shcherbynivka, Nelypivka, Toretsk, Rusyn Yar, and Oleksandro-Kalynove.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian forces repelled 51 enemy assaults near Poltavka, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Lysivka, Novoukrainka, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Muravka, and Oleksiivka.
