Germany Says It Busted Up Hamas Terror Plot Targeting Jews

"German prosecutors announced in a statement Wednesday that authorities have apprehended three suspected Hamas members who were allegedly procuring weapons "for assassinations targeting Israeli or Jewish institutions."
The trio has been charged with membership in a foreign terrorist organization and preparing an act of violence endangering the state, in a somewhat rare case, given Hamas does not tend to operate transnationally - especially in moments of direct, intensified war with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
However, the three - so far only identified by the first names and last initials, are not Palestinian. Two are said to be German, while the third was born in Lebanon. They are set to appear before a judge on Thursday.
The men identified as Abed Al G, Wael F M and Ahmad I were arrested in Berlin, which notably came a day before Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish calendar.
CNN has cited a prosecutor statement as saying, "Since at least the summer of 2025 the three have been involved in procuring firearms and ammunition" for Hamas.
Police found "various weapons, including an AK 47 assault rifle and several pistols, and a considerable amount of ammunition." during raids on their homes during the arrest."

Ukraine’s strikes on Russian refineries spark fuel shortages, export bans, and price hikes

"Over the past week, Ukraine's Armed Forces carried out new strikes on Russian oil refineries, forcing Russian authorities to extend a ban on gasoline exports and announce the introduction
of a partial ban on
diesel exports.
Ukraine's
sustained campaign of strikes on refineries is now causing mild havoc at gas stations in Russia and occupied Crimea, with prices skyrocketing and short-term shortages widely reported.
While, for now, these strikes are unlikely to cause massive disruptions to global supply chains, market experts who spoke to the Kyiv Independent say
Russia's highly profitable diesel and gasoline exports are still taking an unprecedented hit.
A domestic energy crisis is also at play." KI

Trump Gaza Plan Wins Support of Arab, Muslim World — and Palestinian Authority

"President Donald Trump’s proposal to end the Gaza war has not only won support from Israel, but also from the Arab and Muslim
world — and from the Palestinian Authority, which has opposed his plans in the past. If Hamas does not agree, the plan allows Israel to continue fighting the terror group.

Trump canvassed for support for the plan among Arab and Muslim nations on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York last week. The plan includes key Arab demands, such as the inclusion of the Palestinian Authority in the future governance of Gaza (together with other Arab states). It also prevents Israel from annexing Gaza, and does not mention Judea and Samaria (the West Bank)."

Moldova’s election marred by fraud

"Moldova’s parliamentary elections on Sunday, in which the pro-EU PAS party narrowly secured a majority, were marred by blatant “fraud” and manipulations, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.
The PAS party, led by pro-Western President Maia Sandu, secured 50.2% of the vote, with the opposition parties narrowly trailing behind with 49.8%. The Patriotic Electoral Bloc alliance, which advocates for closer ties with
Russia and constitutional neutrality, came second with 24.2%.
The voting, however, was marred by uneven access to voting. Only two polling stations were opened in
Russia, despite the country hosting one of the largest Moldovan diaspora communities in the world, which numbers up to 500,000 people. As a result, only around 4,100 votes were counted in Russia. Meanwhile, dozens of polling stations were opened in Italy – where the Moldovan diaspora tends to be more pro-EU – enabling tens of thousands to submit ballots.
Speaking to reporters after the Valdai Club discussion forum on Tuesday, Lavrov suggested that the elections are another milestone in turning the ex-Soviet state into an anti-
Russia foothold." RT

President of Ecuador Daniel Noboa Attacked in Humanitarian Aid Convoy

"Violent rioters in Ecuador on Sunday assaulted a convoy loaded with humanitarian aid led by President Daniel Noboa in the province of Imbabura amid fierce anti-government protests over the end of fuel subsidies, according to the Ecuadorian government.
On Sunday, President Noboa personally led a humanitarian convoy alongside other
government officials and international representatives to the city of Otavalo, Imbabura, one of the municipalities most affected by the ongoing strikes and violent protests.
Ecuadorian presidential spokesperson Carolina Jaramillo explained to local outlets on Monday that some 350 people ambushed the convoy, which was under the protection of some 50 military officials. Jaramillo described the violent protests as terrorist acts and stressed that “the attack came unexpectedly, and what the military did was repel it.”
The presidential spokesperson further detailed that, in addition to President Noboa, Interior Minister John Reimberg and Defense Minister Giancarlo Loffredo were also part of the convoy, as well as Catholic Apostolic Nuncio Andrés Carrascosa, European Union Ambassador Jekaterina Dorodnova,
U.N. Resident Coordinator Laura Melo, and Italian Ambassador to Ecuador Giovanni Davoli.
The president’s goal is to watch over and protect the lives of all Ecuadorians, but there are infiltrated groups that seek confrontation and do not represent the citizenry,” Jaramillo said, and stressed that the assault shows these are not peaceful demonstrations, but “crimes committed by violent and infiltrated groups.”
