How A Key US-Saudi Defense Deal Is Linked To Latest Hamas Attack On Israel
"The assault, the biggest incursion into Israel in decades, coincides with US-backed moves topush Saudi Arabia towards normalizing ties with Israel in return for a defense deal between Washington and Riyadh, a move that would slam the brakes on the kingdom’s recent rapprochement with Tehran.
Palestinian officials and a regional source said the gunmen who entered Israeli towns, killing 250 Israelis and taking hostages, were also delivering a message that the Palestinians could not be ignored if Israel wanted security and that any Saudi deal would scupper the detente with Iran." Hamas Launches Unprecedented Terror Attack on Israel
"The Palestinian militant group Hamas launched unprecedented terror attack on Israel, which has included the firing of thousands of rockets onto the Israel and the infiltration of Israeli territory by land, air, and sea.
Responding to the surprise attack Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that the nation is “at war” and the terrorists “will pay a price it has never known before.” Thus far, the attacks in Israel have reportedly left 300 people dead and nearly 1,600 wounded. Hamas claims it has captured Israel Defense Force soldiers and civilians during its assault on Israeli border towns outside Gaza. Israel’s military response –“Operation Sword of Iron”– has led to the deaths of 198 Palestinians and 1,610 people injured. The attack occurred on the Jewish holiday of Shemini Atzeret, the final day of the annual High Holy Day cycle.
A Hamas spokesperson, Ghazi Hamad, says in a statement to BBC that the terror organization had direct backing from Iran for its deadly assault on Israel. Hussam Badran, a member of the political bureau of Hamas, says the terror group’s onslaught is only in its early stages.
Badran says the attack, called the “Al-Aqsa Deluge” by the terror group, comes after careful preparation aimed at catching Israel by surprise.
The images and videos of women — and the corpses of women — being abused by Palestinian gunmen caused shock and anguish throughout Israel. Another video shows Palestinian militants dragging a lifeless body of what appears to be a soldier out of car.

Two men then stamp on the man’s body, cheering and lifting their guns up into the air. A crowd of men subsequently swarm the body.
The state of New York and the New York City Police Department (NYPD) are increasing protection measures for Jewish synagogues.
President Joe Biden delivers a statement on Hamas’s terror attack on Israel, says the United States “stands with the State of Israel.” An unspecified number of rockets fired by terrorists in Gaza have hit Tel Aviv.
A former Israel Defense Forces international spokesperson says Hamas’s terror attack on Israel is a “Pearl Harbor type of moment” for the Jewish state.
The Biden administration is said to have recently greenlit an agreement with Iran to pay the terror-supporting regime $6 billion in exchange for five detained U.S. citizens. The deal appears to go against the U.S. policy of not paying countries to release American prisoners so as not to incentivize the behavior. Former President Donald Trump issues a statement on Hamas’s terror attack on Israel, describing the deadly assault as a “disgrace” and suggests U.S. taxpayer dollars helped contribute to the shocking events.
“Sadly, American taxpayer dollars helped fund these attacks, which many reports are saying came from the Biden Administration,” Trump said.
“We brought so much peace to the Middle East through the Abraham Accords, only to see Biden whittle it away at a far more rapid pace than anyone thought possible. Here we go again,” the former president continued.
Israel “has every right to defend itself with overwhelming force,” he added."
Iran’s foreign ministry is lauding the attack.
“Today’s operation marked a new page in the field of resistance and armed operations against the occupiers,” spokesman Nasser Kanani says." Breitbart

Top generals warn that allies — Canada included — are running dangerously low on artillery shells
"NATO official and Canada's top military commander have both warned allies within the pastweek that their ammunition shortages have reached a crisis state and are calling for urgent action to boost production of critical artillery rounds.
Gen. Wayne Eyre, chief of the defense staff, recently told a House of Commons committee that if Canadian troops were called upon to fire their big guns at the same rate as Ukrainian troops fighting to repel the Russian invasion, their supply of shells would last for only a few days.
At the Warsaw Security Forum this week, Admiral Rob Bauer, the head of NATO's military council, warned that "the bottom of the barrel is now visible" in terms of how much ammunition the alliance has available to transfer to Ukraine." cbc.ca

Ukraine has lost 90,000 men since June
"Kiev also lost almost 1,900 armored vehicles since the start of its counteroffensive inJune......The Ukrainian military has lost more than 90,000 troops since its counteroffensive against Russian forces began in June....The counteroffensive began on June 4 with a series of Ukrainian advances along the frontline between Kherson and Donetsk. The operation quickly ran into trouble, however, as Ukrainian units advanced headlong through minefields to meet multiple layers of Russian trenches, tank traps, and gun emplacements. With no air support to cover the repeated Ukrainian assaults, Kiev’s troops were exposed to attacks by Russian artillery, helicopters, and drones." RT

NATO admiral floats 'form of conscription' to face Russia war threat
"Western allies may need to enact “a form of conscription” to grow their militaries, a top NATO admiral suggested amid widening misgivings about Russia’s replacement of soldiers and equipment lost during the war in Ukraine.“It is a societal problem to be solved by society,” Dutch Adm. Rob Bauer, who heads the NATO Military Committee, said during the Warsaw Security Forum, “and if you cannot find enough people that voluntarily want to join the armed forces, you have to most likely think about other means of getting the people — a form of conscription, mobilization, reservists — like in Finland, where there's still conscription.”
U.S. military recruiters have fallen short of their targets in recent years, in parallel to a war in Ukraine that has exposed severe shortfalls in the ability of Western companies to produce arms and ammunition at a scale needed to deter or fight wars against Russia or China. Those dynamics make for a dangerous combination, Western officials fear, as Russian President Vladimir Putin is racing to expand Russia’s military in response to its struggles during the war in Ukraine."
