Met Office issues amber alert as Britons warned of 'danger to life' ahead of Storm Floris

"The Met Office has issued an amber alert to Britons ahead of Storm Floris.
The national weather agency urged people to only open doors where "needed” during the "unusually windy weather" for this time of year.
Parts of the UK are expected to be hit with 85mph gales and heavy rain.
The alert, which warned of "Injuries and danger to life", was issued from 10am on Monday to 10pm later that evening." GBN
