The healthcare centers have reportedly been locked down for a minimum three-week quarantine period after a laboratory worker succumbed to an "unspecified form of plague" in
Russia.

Several
U.S. politicians are now advocating for a suspension of commercial air travel to and from Russia until the situation becomes clearer. The initial symptoms of pneumonic plague generally appear approximately 4 to 7 days following exposure, and currently around 200 individuals are reportedly under medical observation.
Several hospitals are reported to be affected, including City Clinical Hospitals Nos. 1, 3, and 10, as well as the Ivano-Matreninskaya City Children's Clinical Hospital.
The Moscow Times reported that Alexei Tsydenov, the head of the neighboring republic of Buryatia, confirmed that the woman had died from an unspecified form of plague. Additionally, it has been alleged that ambulances transporting individuals for testing have been accompanied by officers of the FSB,
Russia's federal security service." msn
