"Ukrainian border guard officer and aerial reconnaissance specialist Yurii Kasianov claims President Volodymyr Zelensky personally ordered the disbanding of his unit because he was a key witness in a corruption case involving drone manufacturer Fire Point.
Kasianov alleged that the decision came directly from the president and was retribution for his testimony in an investigation by Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau.“The decision to liquidate our unit was made by President Volodymyr Zelensky because I’m a whistleblower in the Fire Point case and a key witness,” he wrote. “On Oct. 2, I gave testimony to NABU detectives. On the morning of Oct. 3, the unit’s liquidation was announced.”
Kasianov has formally requested witness protection for himself and his family under NABU’s protection program.
Kasianov also said that over the past year, Fire Point — a private company contracted by the state — had made headlines for allegedly developing a missile called the Flamingo.
He claimed he had contacted the company with concerns that its drone was being purchased by the government at three times the real market price.
He also questioned the firm’s announcement that it had developed a “supposed cruise missile” in just nine months.
“That’s not possible,” he said. “Even the fastest development timelines — six years for the French cruise missile, eight for the American Tomahawk, 12 for the Russian Kalibr — are far longer.” NV

Trump says he will urge Putin to end the war or face the US sending Tomahawks to Ukraine
"U.S. President Donald Trump said that he is prepared to send long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine but said he plans to first discuss the matter with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“I might have to speak to Russia, to be honest, about the Tomahawks,” Trump told reporters. “Do they want to have Tomahawks going in their direction? I don’t think so.”
When asked if he meant he would speak with Putin before supplying the missiles, Trump said that possibility depends on Moscow’s willingness to end the war.
“Maybe I’ll talk to him. I might say, look, if the war is not settled, I’ll send them the Tomahawks,” he said, calling the weapon “a very offensive weapon.” KI

White House issues stark warning to Britain amid China spy scandal
"The White House has warned Sir Keir Starmer that Britain’s failure to prosecute two suspected Chinese spies risks damaging the special relationship and could jeopardize intelligence sharing between London and Washington.
US President Donald Trump is said to be increasingly concerned about Britain’s reliability after charges were dropped against two Britons accused of spying for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Ex-parliamentary assistant Chris Cash, 30, and academic Christopher Berry, 33, had charges of alleged espionage dropped last month after Whitehall refused to provide evidence to the Crown Prosecution Service that indicated China is a "threat to national security".
A senior White House aide said that the US has been "warning allies about the Chinese threat to our combined national security since President Trump first came into office in 2017". GBN

Trump’s peacemaking efforts undeniable – Putin
"The efforts that US President Donald Trump is putting into resolving international conflicts cannot be disputed, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Friday, commenting on whether the American leader deserves a Nobel Peace Prize. The committee has a record of honoring people who “did nothing for peace,” Putin remarked, without calling out any specific names. Conversely, Trump “is really doing a lot to resolve difficult crises, which last for years and decades,” he added.
The recent mediation in the Middle East, if it leads to “Donald achieving all his goals, everything he said he wants to do, would be a historic event,” the president added.
Putin said that he considers Trump’s attempts to mediate an end to the Ukraine conflict genuine, adding, “some things we managed to do, others we didn’t, but the discussions that we had in Anchorage still have the potential to achieve a lot. What is certain, is that he is putting in the work.” Trump and Putin met in Alaska in mid-August, with talks primarily focusing on the Ukraine crisis." RT
