6.3 and 6.5 magnitude earthquakes strike Bay of Bengal and Nicobar Islands

"Two strong earthquakes were recorded in the early hours of Tuesday in the Bay of Bengal andthe Nicobar Islands region. The first tremor, measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale, struck the Bay of Bengal at 12:11 am IST, according to the National Centre for Seismology.
The quake’s epicentre was located at a depth of 10 km, near coordinates 6.82°N and 93.37°E. Authorities are still assessing whether coastal areas or nearby islands have been affected." FT
