The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) reported it as M6.7 at a depth of 10 km, while the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported M6.8 at a depth of 5 km (3.1 miles.
The epicenter was located 125 km (78 miles) E of Yamada (population 15 195), 129 km (80 miles) ESE of Miyako (population 51 159), and 130 km (81 miles) E of Ĺtsuchi (population 11 572), Iwate, Japan." W
