Very strong mag. 6.1 Earthquake - 155 km SE of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia
"A very strong magnitude 6.1 earthquake occurred in the North Pacific Ocean 310 km (193 mi) from Kamchatka, Russia, in the late afternoon at 7.44 pm local time (GMT +11). The quake had a very shallow depth of 29 km (18 mi) and was felt by many near the epicenter. The shallow depth of the quake caused it to be felt more strongly near the epicenter than a deeper quake of similar magnitude would." VD
