"A strong magnitude 5.2 earthquake hit 1,359 km (844 mi) away from Whakatane, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand, in the morning at 9.00 am local time (GMT -12). The quake had a very shallow depth of 33 km (21 mi) and was not felt (or at least not reported so)." VD
