"A very strong magnitude 6.0 earthquake occurred in the South Pacific Ocean 290 km (180 mi) from Fiji in the late afternoon at 7.43 pm local time (GMT +12). The quake had a great depth of 654 km (406 mi) and was reported felt by some people near the epicenter." VD
