"A strong magnitude 5.9 earthquake occurred in the Maluku Sea near Pulau Mayu island, Indonesia, late in the evening of Thursday, Apr 2, 2026 at 11.13 pm local time (Asia/Jayapura GMT +9). The quake had a shallow depth of 35 km (22 mi) and was not felt (or at least not reported so)." VD
