Philippines Sudden Floods Swept Away Homes, Cars in Metro Manila

"Metro Manila was gripped by one of its most disruptive flood events in recent years, as
intense southwest monsoon rains (Habagat)—enhanced by Severe Tropical Storm Crising—unleashed hours of relentless downpour across the National Capital Region and surrounding provinces.
Over 800,000 individuals were affected, with 22,000 people seeking shelter in evacuation centers. Most casualties were reported in Quezon City, Bulacan, and Pampanga, where flash floods overwhelmed low-lying communities. Emergency services were deployed across the region, conducting rescue operations, distributing relief goods, and monitoring flood-prone zones." DW
