"A strong magnitude 5.5 earthquake occurred in the South Pacific Ocean near the coast of Peru around noon at 12.39 pm local time (GMT -5). The quake had a very shallow depth of 9 km (5.6 mi) and was reported felt by some people near the epicenter." VD
