"A strong magnitude 5.5 earthquake occurred in the South China Sea near Calayan Island island, Philippines, in the early afternoon at 3.27 pm local time (GMT +8). The quake had a shallow depth of 40 km (25 mi) and was not felt (or at least not reported so)." VD
