"A very strong magnitude 6.2 earthquake occurred in the North Pacific Ocean 94 km (58 mi) from Sakhalin Oblast, Russia, in the late afternoon at 6.34 pm local time (GMT +11). The quake had a shallow depth of 36 km (22 mi) and was not felt (or at least not reported so)." VD
