"A strong magnitude 5.3 earthquake occurred in the South Pacific Ocean 238 km (148 mi)

from New Zealand in the evening at 8.53 pm local time (GMT -12). The quake had a shallow depth of 41 km (26 mi) and was not felt (or at least not reported so)." VD
