"A strong magnitude 5.6 earthquake occurred in the South Pacific Ocean 187 km (116 mi) from New Zealand late in the evening at 11.46 pm local time (GMT +12). The depth of the quake could not be determined, but is assumed to be shallow. The quake was not felt (or at least not reported so)." VD
