Super Typhoon Bavi Destroyed Guam! Widespread Damage in Saipan - 180 MPH Winds

"Super Typhoon Bavi roared across Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands as one of the
most powerful tropical cyclones to impact the western Pacific this year. Strengthening into a Category 5 equivalent storm over exceptionally warm ocean waters, Bavi delivered destructive winds approaching 180 miles per hour near its core while producing dangerous gusts exceeding 200 miles per hour. Communities across
Guam, Rota, Saipan, and Tinian experienced life-threatening weather including widespread power outages, torrential rainfall, hurricane-force winds, coastal flooding, enormous waves, and flash flooding. The storm's powerful eyewall moved directly across portions of the Mariana Islands, damaging homes, uprooting trees, downing power lines, and creating hazardous travel conditions throughout the region. Emergency shelters opened ahead of landfall as officials urged residents to remain indoors while the dangerous conditions unfolded. Heavy rainfall continued for hours, increasing the threat of flooding and landslides across the islands." W
