"A strong magnitude 5.8 earthquake hit 73 km (45 mi) away from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy, Kamchatka, Russia, in the early morning at 12.38 am local time (Asia/Kamchatka GMT +12). The quake had a shallow depth of 55 km (34 mi) and was felt widely in the area.
